It is with great sadness that we report the recent passing of Elizabeth Frances Dick (nee) Hutchinson (S: 1940-1948)
Elizabeth passed away on 26th July five weeks after her 90th Birthday. There will be a private thanksgiving ceremony for close family and friends taking place on 3rd September in Sevenoaks. Elizabeth was president of the old scholars association in the mid 90's and her cousin Richard Hutchinson and Nephew Nick Jones are also Sidcotians.
Elizabeth Frances Dick (nee) Hutchinson: (nurse, playgroup supervisor): b. Hastings, New Zealand, 18th May 1931; p. Jonathan Hutchinson (q.v) and Ellen Frances (Seymour); m. Gavin Colquhout Dick (Civil Servant) at Fernhust Sussex, 4 April 1953; ch, Helen Frances b. 1953, Catherine Penelope b. 1956; 1952 S.R.N. (Radcliffe Infmary, Oxford); 1954 - 1963 part-time nursing; 1961 - 1964 in New Zealand with husband (British High Comission); 1968 started a pre-school / playgroup in Sevenoaks; 1979- member, Sevenoaks District Council (1988/89 Chairman); Primary School Governor; Chair of Governors, Girls Grant Maintained School; Local Secretary S.O.S.A.; 1981 - 1997 S.O.S.A. rep. on Assoc. of Representatives of Old pupils Societies; 1995/96 President S.O.S.A.; 1998- Chair of S.O.S.A Committie.
We hope to share some photos and more details of her life in the coming weeks. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
