Anne Loughlin, taught piano at Sidcot from 1942-1943 at Sidcot she met her future husband George Loughlin, who was Director of Music from 1936 to December 1942. From Sidcot, George was appointed Director of Music at Cheltenham College in 1943. Headmaster at that time was Richard Brayshaw, who was best man for their marriage in London in the summer of 1943.
The couple had two sons Michael & Christopher, they moved out to Melbourne, Australia in 1958. Anne lived a long and full life, passing away on 17th September 2021, aged 99 years. Her husband died in 1984. Both were members of Sidcot Old Scholars Association, received a Christmas card annually, and retained friends from that time, including John Russell, History & Civics teacher.
Below is a copy of her order of service and a link to her funeral service which was held on 23rd September in her local parish church in her home town of Kew, Melbourne, Australia. Please check back in as I will be updating this page with a eulogy of her life after Sidcot.
