It is with much sadness that we share the news of the recent passing of Margaret Alison Chinn, she passed away last week aged 86. Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this difficult time.

Congratulations Margaret, on a life lived adventurously; from the Register: Chin, Margaret, Alison (artist, schoolteacher): b. Southend, 16th Sept 1936; p. Walter Leslie Chinn and Ethel Catherine (Morris); S. 1947-1954 Prefect, head librarian, 1st XI and Somerset Juniour County Hockey Teams, chior, orchestra, art, 1954-1955 Coventry School of Art, 1955 - 1961 N.D.D. Painting. A.T.D. (Reading) (1960 President, Reading University Women's Rowing Club); 1961 - 1986 art teaching in Herefordshire, Croydon, Coventry (represented Coventry Schools on West Midlands Panel for setting and assesment C.E.E.); 1986 - 1987 Head of Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology, Cardinal Wiseman R.C. School; member, United Universities Womens Boat Club (now Thames R.C.), represented Great Britain at the European Women's Rowing Championships 1962 - 1964, British Champions in IVs and VIIIs 1962 - 1966; printer and printmaker, exhibiting at galleries in Coventry and Cornwall; member Penwith Printmakers; committee member, Peninsula Chior. d. 11th April 2023
