Science Block Renovations
Help us to revitalise Sidcot's Science Labs!

About this vital project

Our Science Block is a core learning facility for our 650-strong cohort of students. Built in 1908 and renovated in the 1970s, it is now tired and outdated. With our planned revitalization of the labs, and with your support, we seek to inspire our Sidcot Scientists to be STEM changemakers and to reinvigorate this vital part of the School for generations to come.

Over seven weeks in the Summer holidays 2023, five of the Science labs will be entirely renovated, including:

🔬 New furniture and pod work stations installed, including belstone worktops
💡 New suspended ceilings with LED lighting
💦 Improved gas/water access for experiments
👞 New non-slip latex floor fitted
📊 New smartboards installed
💨 Three top-end fume cupboards purchased

Help us complete our periodic table of Sidcotians

While the School is largely funding this work, alongside some generous pledges from Old Scholars, we are offering the opportunity to further support this work by purchasing an 'element' for our Periodic Table, which will adorn the Science Block foyer.

Your chosen name will be engraved alongside the name of the element, for posterity.

Elements can be purchased for £500 or more, in one-off or spread payment instalments. Once a donation is made, the Development team will be in touch to confirm your preferred element and choice of name for engraving.
